Win two tickets to Night of the Iguana at Paramount Theatre

Pub date June 5, 2014

Night of the Iguana is showing at Paramount Theatre on June 20.

Come see Defrocked Episcopal clergyman Dr. T. Lawrence Shannon (Richard Burton) leads a busload of middle-aged Baptist women on a tour of the Mexican coast. Driven to distraction by the hostility of the group’s leader (Grayson Hall) and the attentions of a seductive teenager (Sue Lyons), Reverend Shannon has an alcoholic breakdown and hijacks the group off of the scheduled tour through the Mexican jungle to a dilapidated hotel owned by an old friend’s wife (Ava Gardner). A budding relationship with an itinerant artist (Deborah Kerr) may be Shannon’s last hope of exorcising his demons of insanity and alcoholism. Shannon has literally reached the end of the road and now he has no choice but to come to terms with the failure and self-destruction haunting his life. Director John Huston’s riveting screen adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ play garnered the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (Grayson Hall) and a Best Costume Design Oscar for Dorothy Jeakins.
