The very first event by the New Wave City team, was the I-Beam Reunion Party in August of 1992, held at the now demolished I-Beam nightclub at 1748 Haight Street. The I-Beam was a major focal point of the New Wave/alternative music scene in the early 80s, with its legendary Monday night live shows, which expanded into weeknight DJ dance nights. New Wave City held a number of events at the I-Beam, and as noted on Wikipedia’s I-Beam page, “New Wave City, San Francisco’s First & Foremost 80’s Dance Party, presented its “Just Can’t Get Enough” event at the I-Beam on the last night of the I-Beam’s operation, July 23, 1994.” Read all about the legendary club here.
Now THIRTY years after the original I-Beam scene, and twenty years after the first I-Beam Reunion Party, Skip and Shindog bring it back. Original I-Beam DJ Brian Raffi returns for the latest Reunion event.
