Mayor Gavin Newsom has blocked me on Twitter. He made a big deal of how he’s now tweeting to voters and constituents, so as a diligent journalist, I signed up to follow him a couple weeks ago. When I was preparing to discuss it on my TV show, Comcast’s City Desk News Hour, I even sent him one direct reply with an innocent question and never heard back.

Maybe he was irritated that I mocked his Tweets on the show, including noting that he doesn’t know how to spell very well (despite Twitter’s spellcheck, he uses “your” when he means “you’re” and “there” when he means “their”), who knows? But apparently our glass-jawed mayor doesn’t want me among his thousands of followers.
So much for transparency. That’s cool, Gav, I wasn’t getting much out of it anyway.

P.S. Newsom flack Nate Ballard hasn’t responded to my inquiry about why his oversensitive boss blocked me.
