It’s a nail-biter, to be sure, but the District One race is slowing heading toward the finish, and Eric Mar seems to be holding enough of a margin for victory.

The latest city figures show Mar at 40 percent and Sue Lee, his closest competitor, at 34 percent. That, of course, doesn’t take into account the ranked-choice voitng process, and the city isn’t running the RCV program very often. But thanks to Caleb Kleppner, one of the original backers of RCV, the program is circulating around town. Sup. Chris Daly ran it this afternoon, and the results show:

Mar, 12261
Lee, 11975

There are still 1,465 absentee ballots to count, but at the rate the trends are now going, Mar should win by about 200 votes. We’ll keep you posted.
